“Your physical health, your psychological wellbeing, and your spiritual possibility depend on how well aligned you are with existence. Essentially, Hatha Yoga is towards establishing this alignment.” – Sadhguru
‘Ha’ meaning Sun and ‘tha’ meaning Moon. ‘Ha-tha’ means to bring a certain cohesiveness between these two major forces that make up this body. Every moment of our life, everything that we do is being controlled by these two forces. Hatha Yoga is a cohesive experience of working the body, breath, mind and inner self to be in control of ourselves.
This practice stems from a thorough understanding of our body mechanics, and uses a range of yogic postures, or yogasanas, to enable our system to attain and sustain higher energy levels. Through the practice of this science, we can change and enhance the way we experience life.
Our Hatha Yoga classes, offer varied kinds of formats, ranging from weekend, one week, two week and four week-long classes in order to have an in-depth learning of yogic postures and other yogic practices, which do not require any special physical agility or prior experience of yoga. Practices offered in the Hatha Yoga classes and retreats are tools to enhance one’s wellness and fitness and are also geared towards empowering individuals to cope with the stresses of the hectic pace of modern life.

The word asana literally means a posture. Out of the innumerable asanas a body can assume, 84 have been identified as Yogasanas, through which one can transform the body and mind into a possibility for ultimate well-being. Yogasanas are not exercises, but rather very subtle processes to manipulate one’s energy in a particular direction.
In an untrained state, the human body is a constant manifestation of various levels of compulsiveness. By consciously forming the body into a certain posture, one creates a conducive passage for energy flow that can elevate one’s consciousness. Yogasanas are a way of aligning the inner system and adjusting it to the celestial geometry, thereby becoming in sync with the existence and naturally achieving a chemistry of healthfulness, joyfulness, blissfulness, and above all, balance.
Hatha Yoga is offered as a set of 21 powerful postures, or yogasanas, to enable the system to sustain higher dimensions of energy. This profound science enhances how one thinks, feels, and experiences life. Isha’s program requires no special physical agility or previous experience of yoga. It is not merely physical exercise, but enables a person to flower into his ultimate potential; to naturally achieve a state of health, joy, and bliss.

There is a beautiful story in the yogic lore that describes how when Adiyogi utters three AUMs, a whole new creation comes into being. The story is a dialectical expression of the possibility of the sound AUM. Known as the universal or basic sound in the existence, AUM is a combination of the three primordial syllables – “Aaa”, “Ooo”, and “Maa”. AUM chanting is a powerful practice that aligns the three fundamental aspects of the system – body, mind and energy – leading to a more profound experience of life. It helps stabilize the body and mind, thus eliminating psychological disturbances and alleviating chronic ailments. AUM chanting creates a powerful basis for further inner exploration.
At the Project, the Hatha Yoga classes are offered as a combination of the Yogic practices shared above. They can also be taught as stand alone practices, as each set of practice is a complete system on its own.
Teaching hours will vary for every workshop and will be revealed after registering for the yoga class. We do not take walk-ins, so please register or book for a yoga class before arrival.
To make it simpler for you, we have divided and designed the Hatha Yoga workshops as follows:-
