After receiving a Bachelors degree in English Literature from Stella Maris College, Chennai, Virangna went on to trained at Kalakshetra College of Fine Arts, Chennai and Julius Macwan Institute, Mumbai. She went on to study pottery under the tutelage of the legendary Mini Singh and Late Jugal Kishore at Andretta Pottery, Himachal as well as Keshari Nandan, ceramic artist at Studio Drishtivaak, Rajasthan. She has been mentored by Aurovillian artist, Supriya Menon, an alumni of Golden Bridge Pottery, Pondicherry . Virangna has also attended a workshop at Golden Bridge Pottery Studio, Pondicherry under American Artist Tim Rowan, 2015. In 2016 she assisted ceramic artist Vineet Kakkar on his solo show ‘Should I look for You, Should I lose myself…’, at Gallery Art Positive, New Delhi. In eary 2017, Virangna briefly also worked out of Golden Bridge Pottery Studio, Pondicherry.
After completing Fine Arts diploma at Kalakshetra College of Fine Arts, Chennai, Virangna worked at Vastrakala Exports as a Product Manager. Vastrakala is one of its kind embroidery house run by a fourth generation embroider, Jean Francois Lesage.
For a brief period she apprenticed with installation artist Sudarshan Shetty, Mumbai and then went on to gain valuable experience in the management of an artist residency by taking up work as a Studio Manager at ‘The Last Ship’, artist residency program at Mumbai.
She has also held pottery workshops for children and adults in addition to having spent several terms as pottery teacher at Isha Home School, Coimbatore.
Virangna has an inherent attachment for photography and has a diploma in basic photography from Ambitions Academy
